A well known Limerick personality, Una has been a professional artist based in Ireland since she went to the Limerick School of Art, Ireland. She has created portraitures of famous faces from across the world, thrives in creating fun caricatures and adores the wildness of the Irish coast to inspire her landscape paintings. When she is not sketching on location, she mainly works in her studio in Limerick where she captures the magical atmosphere of Ireland. With corporate and private collectors from across the world adding her work to their collections, she continues to create new colourful energetic paintings and unique commissions.

Una established and curated the Frank McCourt Museum which was dedicated to the Pulitzer Prize-winning author of Angela's Ashes, Frank McCourt, and based in Frank's former school in the Georgian Quarter of Limerick City.

Sunday Independent: What lies Beneath

Virtual Exhibition: Fort Dunree
Artlink Fort Dunree hosted a virtual exhibition on Monday August 3rd where 45 artists from Donegal and beyond were inspired by the theme, “Places we Love”. Artworks include painting, drawing, printmaking, moving image, photography, collage and performance. 3 of my paintings feature at 18’30”
Artlink is an artist-led organisation, formed in 1992, run by a team of professional artists working from onsite studios at the historic and inspiring location of Fort Dunree, Inishowen.
Dromoland Castle Arts and Crafts
Ireland’s 16th century Dromoland Castle is featuring Limerick artist Una Heaton giving arts and crafts lessons. A Tribute to Frontline Heros
An event organised by Una Heaton where Limerick came together in song to give a huge thank you to the frontline heroes who continue to fight against Covid-19, while raising much-needed funds for Pieta House. ‘Thank you, Frontline Heroes’ at the Strand Hotel featured moving performances from the phenomenal Limerick talent of Emma Langford, Sinead O’Brien, Ger O’Donnell, Derek Moloney, Karen Franklin, Jim Lynch and the Munster Supporters Choir. The event was broadcast live on I Love Limerick’s Facebook page and was watched by 10,000 people within hours of the broadcast.
Frank McCourt Art Project
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Angela’s Ashes, Una created a giant mosaic template of Frank McCourt which over 700 people from all over the world, ranging from visitors to the museum to professional artists, painted 4×4 canvas squares.
